Obituary of Elvira Sorace

Elvira “Vera” Sorace (nee Ross), 72, of Manalapan, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, at The Gardens at Monroe. Elvira was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. Vera resided in Bayonne most of her life and spent the last 6 years in Manalapan. She was a stay at home mom and provided a wonderful life for her daughters. She loved being with her family, going to the gym and spending any minute she could with her grandkids.  She enjoyed going to car shows with her husband Tommy and going for rides in his hot rods.  During Christmas time everyone would wait for Vera to make her famous butter cookies.

Elvira was predeceased by her parents, Rose Ross (nee LaRegina) and Henry Ross, brother Robert and sister-in-law Cookie. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Thomas; daughter Lisa and her husband Jeff; daughter Nancy and her husband Mike; siblings Frederick and his wife Roxanne, Henry and his wife Kathy, Michael and his wife Peggy, Richard and his wife Robin, Allen and his wife Vhikki, John, Carol and her husband Mosies and Anthony; sister-in-laws, Patricia and Barbara, and grandchildren Michael, Arianna, Jeffrey and Joseph. She was also a loving, cousin, aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to visit on January 29^th, Sunday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan NJ.  A funeral service will be held at 5:00pm during the visitation.
