Obituary of Michael Vincent Alessio
Michael Vincent Alessio, age 44 of Freehold Township passed away on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He was born in Teaneck N.J on June 26, 1978 and was raised in River Vale and lived in Washington Township before settling in Freehold Twp. in 2016. Michael was a diehard fan of the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. He always showed his support while watching them on TV by dressing head to toe in logo-depicting clothing. Michael was passionate about rock music. His favorites included KISS, Def Leppard, Aerosmith and AC/DC which he had the pleasure of seeing many of them in concert. In addition, Michael was a huge Marvels/DC fan and loved going to the movies, enjoy all his collectibles and reading his many comic book collections at home. Since moving to Freehold Michael enjoyed walking with his mom throughout the Enclave Community chatting with all his neighbors.
Michael was predeceased by his mom, Karen Umstead. He is survived by his stepdad, John Umstead of Freehold Township, his father, Frank Alessio and his stepmom Fredi Alessio of Valhalla, NY, his brother, Frank Alessio of Astoria, Queens, his step brothers Craig Applebaum and his wife Jeril of Suffern, NY, Mark Applebaum and his wife Tiffany of Utah, his aunt Corine Van Dort of Mount Vernon, NY and uncle Barry Edelstein and his wife Karyn, of Arizona and Woodmere, NY. His uncle Ken Burke from North Carolina.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, January 23rd, from 11:00am to 1:00pm (Umstead Family) and 2:00pm to 4:00pm (Alessio Family), at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.
