Obituary of Deacon Keith J. Casey

Deacon Keith J. Casey, 76, of Freehold, passed away on Wednesday, January 11th, 2023. Keith was born in Brooklyn, New York and resided in Freehold for 45 years. Keith was a senior Chemical engineer for 25 years with Best Foods (CPC International) in Somerset, NJ. Upon retiring, he followed his passion as Director of Religious Education at the Parish of St. Thomas More in Manalapan, NJ.

Keith served the Catholic Church via the Diocese of Trenton for over 33 years. He served the churches of St. Thomas More and Our Lady of Mercy as an ordained Deacon who presided over countless Baptisms,
First Communions, Confirmations, Marriages and Funerals. In addition, his ministry included the Parish of St Rose of Lima where he assisted as Deacon during many weekday masses and participated in the prayer
community.

He was the Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus in Englishtown for 2 years and also as Spiritual Director for both Freehold & Englishtown chapters. Over a 30 year span, Keith held many roles for Boy Scout 
Troop 157 including as Troop Catholic Chaplain.

He was loved by so many. His positive outlook, generous spirit, and kind heart left an impression wherever he went. Keith's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife Carol; son David; daughter Nancy and her husband Ross; son Tim; brother Brian and his wife Barbara; and grandchildren Ryan and Rachel.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Sunday, January 15th, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, at St. Thomas More Church, 186 Gordons Corner Rd, Manalapan, NJ. A funeral mass will be held at church on Monday, January, 16th at 10:00am. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
