Obituary of Harold Spille

Harold Edward Spille, 79, of Marlboro, NJ, passed away on December 29, 2022, at his residence.  Harold was born in Brooklyn, NY. He proudly served in the Merchant Marine for over 30 years. Harold held the rank of Able-bodied seaman.  He sailed all over the world transporting important cargo through rough seas and at times to perilous destinations.  He delivered much-needed supplies to Vietnam at the height of the war.  Harold will always be remembered for his kind heart and entertaining sea stories told with great wit and charm.

Harold was predeceased by his parents Dr. Harold Edward Spille and Patricia Marie Spille, and his brother, Michael Gerard Spille. He is survived by his loving wife, Florentina Bautista Spille, his brother, Brian Spille, his sister, Ann Cichocki, and his sister Patricia Spille.  Harold will also be missed by his nieces and nephews along with their spouses and children, friends and family near and far.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 5:00 PM—7:00 PM at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 7, 2023, 10:00 AM at Saint Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, 186 Gordons Corner Road, Manalapan, NJ.  Please go directly to the church.  Interment to immediately follow at Saint Gabriel’s Cemetery, County Road 520, Marlboro, NJ.
