Obituary of Mary A. Compton

Mary A. Compton, 83, of Manalapan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2022. Mary was born in Brooklyn, New York, and resided in Manalapan for almost 60 years. Her life was devoted to caring for the people she loved.  She was the oldest of 17 children. Mary enjoyed spending time at the beach, family vacations and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her loving husband William Compton; her mother Helen Wallace; her father Arthur Wallace; brothers Michael Wallace, Arthur Wallace, William Wallace; and her sister Eileen Schiano. She is survived by her children William Compton (Wendy Smith),Polly Ann Amen (John Amen) and Robert Compton (Debra Compton); grandchildren Thomas, Caitlin, Mary, Grace, Ashley, Logan and Kylie; siblings Margaret, Helen, Patricia, Elinore, Kathryn, Danny, Ann, Rita, Thomas, Jean, Patrick and John. 

Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, December 8th, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.  A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Thomas More Church, Friday December 9th at 10am.
