Emily: rest in peace. You will always have a place in my heart with you witty jokes and infectious laughter. We haven't worked together that long but it was always fun when I see you walk towards my row. Girl, I'll talk to you about tranche factors in another lifetime. May the Angels guide you to a better place.

This is the view from inside the balloonicle from our last parade together. The weather was crazy and temperatures were freezing yet despite all the craziness around us, its amazing the sense of peace and warmth and memories we have when a true friend is next to you. It was an honor to have been able to sit next to her as we drove through the parade route.

You looked so beautiful. You are at peace and I can only imagine the welcoming party which awaits you up there. You will always be remembered as that very energetic, ambitious girl who had big dreams, and they were surely attainable if one stayed focused like you did. You may be gone here on earth but you will always be with us in our hearts, especially the ones you have saved with your life. Send our regards to all our relatives up there as we continue to pray for them down here. I will light a candle for you at Lourdes pilgrimage this May. And I know you will be there with me in spirit. Love, Bernadette C. Abaya, Blake-Gavin A. Buna, and the whole ABAYA Family

Whitney made a donation to BRAIN INJURY ALLIANCE OF NEW JERSEY INC
I knew Emily only a very short time but it was enough time to learn what a courageous, passionate and inspiring young woman she was. She was truly a delight to work with on the brain trauma unit at JFK and it was clear that she was going to be an amazing clinician. My heart goes out to her family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I chose to donate to the Brain Injury Alliance of NJ in honor of her time spent on the brain trauma unit.
