Obituary of Anthony John Godino

Anthony John Godino, 79, of Marlboro, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. Anthony was born in Brooklyn, New York, before moving to Manalapan, NJ in 1971 and then to Marlboro four years ago. He was a member of the St. Thomas More Church in Manalapan. Anthony formerly served as a volunteer firefighter with the Gordon’s Corner Fire Company, coached and officiated for the Manalapan Recreation Youth Football League, and was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Englishtown. Prior to his retirement, Anthony was employed as a Mechanical Engineer, specializing in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning for JB&B Manhattan. Among the major projects Anthony worked on are the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and the Hudson Yards in New York. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, rooting for the NY Football Giants and sharing laughs over meals and drinks.

Anthony was predeceased by his sister in law Loretta Godino. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Giovanna Godino; his three sons and their spouses Marc and Renee Godino, Steven Godino and Jill West and Paul Godino and Amanda Henry-Godino; his brother Frank Godino and his four grandchildren Hayden, Genevieve, Grant and Calvin.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Saturday, November 5th, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan on Monday November 7th at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
