Rich has been a great leader, someone who was easily approachable. I always appreciated his candid nature. There never was a dull moment when Rich was around.
Rich was heading Workplace Services when I joined Moody's in 2018. My cubicle was diagonally opposite to his room. He always had visitors swing by to speak to him. He at times stopped by my desk to say hello and ask how everything was going. He gave me some wonderful opportunities which I am thankful for. We at Infrastructure Services will dearly miss Rich...
Deepest condolences to Rich's family and friends. May his soul RIP...

I first met Rich when I interviewed with him just before I joined Moody's in March 2020 and from that point forward through working closely with him as a partner and mentor I admired his direct and genuine nature and sense of humor. He was always incredibly generous in his feedback and was very open about his health and life. Conversations with Rich came alive when it came to real things, he was someone who was willing to talk about big ideas beyond the day to day. I regret that I never got to meet him in person, travel and the times being what they've been. Despite that he made a lasting impact on me and I am heartbroken over his loss. My love and support goes to his family and friends.

Rich was a caring, thoughtful, and passionate leader who created a sense of purpose and belonging within the teams he led over the years and made a difference in many people's lives. From the day he shook my hand to welcome me aboard in 2003, he changed the trajectory of my life in a very real way giving someone with barely any experience a chance when no one else was willing to.
One of the earliest memories that stands out is of a team outing soon after I joined. There we were - a bunch of folks I hardly knew standing around somewhere in Pennsylvania wilderness on a Saturday morning, geared up from head to toe with paintball guns in hand. I started questioning what I got myself into having never played before. All my doubts dissipated the moment Rich gathered our team in a circle and spoke. It was a capture-the-flag mission and Rich took us through a daring plan which needed a volunteer to run like the wind and fully trust his teammates to provide suppressive fire. Before I knew it my hand was raised because Rich was the kind of person who made people believe in themselves and in the team. Needless to say the opposing team was caught off-guard and the flag was ours. This is just one of countless examples of Rich's ability to inspire, support and enable those around him, to develop and bring out the best in people.
This is an indescribable loss. My deepest condolences to Rich's family and to his many friends and colleagues who were fortunate to have him in their lives.

He was the best dad I could have ever asked for. I will miss him every single day. He fought a long and hard fight. Even in his last days he was still making us laugh, making sure WE were okay. I will always live like him every single day. I will make you proud dad I love you.
