Obituary of Robert G Taylor

Robert “Bob” G. Taylor, 82, of Freehold Borough passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Manor. Bob was born and raised in Freehold. He was the Chairman of the Monmouth County Joint Fire Council, past President of the Western Monmouth Mutual Aid Association and member of the NJ State Fire Chiefs Association. Bob was a member of the Freehold Fire Department for 61 years and served as the Ex-Chief. Bob also was the Ex-Captain of Goodwill Hook and Ladder Company. He was a member of the Freehold BPOE Elks Lodge #1454 and a life member of the Freehold Fin Fur and Feather Sportsmen Club of Freehold. After working many years Bob retired from Bell Labs of Holmdel. In his spare time Bob could be found hunting, fishing, and enjoying summers at the Manasquan beach with his family.
Robert is predeceased by his sister, Leona “Lee” Marshall. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Sandra; his sons and their wives Robert and Leslie Taylor and Russell and Dawn Taylor; his daughter Elizabeth Jane; his grandchildren Montana Taylor and Shawn Taylor and his nieces and nephews Kevin Marshall, Roberta Marshall and Leona Rowe.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A service will be held at the funeral home Monday during the visitation at 5:00pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation in Robert’s name to the Goodwill Hook and Ladder Co. of the Freehold Fire Department, 49 W Main St, Freehold.
