Obituary of Anthony Settimo
Anthony Settimo passed away peacefully on July 23, 2022, in Manalapan, NJ while next to his beloved wife Gilda Settimo. Anthony was born on February 7, 1937 in Partinico, Sicily to Domenico and Antonina Settimo. Tony was a philosophical man who loved to talk about culture, religion and politics. He was a soccer player in his younger years and an avid soccer fan. Tony loved to travel with his wife and has many friends across the globe.
Uncle, cousin, godfather, brother in law and friend to many. Tony was happiest when spending time with family and friends. Enjoying a good meal and listening to music. He was a free soul with a passion for love and life. He spent his last days in peace surrounded by his family and next to his “pupida”.
Anthony is survived by his older brother Saverio. Anthony, known to most as “Tony” or “The Captain” was a devoted husband who adored his wife Gilda. They were married for over 60 years and she was the “love of his life”. Caring father to Diana and Robert. An affectionate Nonno to his grandchildren Gianna and Ralph Jr. Respected father-in-law to Ralph Miele and Giovanni Toro. Tony was loved by many nieces, nephews, and extended families.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday, July 26 from 2–4pm and 7-9pm at Freeman Funeral Home Manalapan, 344 US-9 Manalapan, NJ 07726. A Christian Burial Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 27 at 9:45am at St. Helen’s Roman Catholic Church in Howard Beach, New York. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum in Farmingdale, New York.
