Obituary of Francis William Tampone

Please share a memory of Francis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Francis William Tampone Sr. (Frank, Fran, Pop Pop), 86, of Marlboro, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2022 after a 2-year battle with cancer. Francis was born and raised in Manhattan and resided in Marlboro for over 50 years years. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served for two years from 1955 to 1957. Francis was a Senior Programmer/Analyst for Nomura Research Institute at the World Financial Center in New York before retiring over 20 years ago.

Francis was predeceased by his father Angelo Tampone, mother Dorothy Tampone, and sister Maryann Kelly. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Rose Tampone, son Francis William Jr. and wife Joan, son Robert and wife Judy, daughter Roseanne Tomeski and husband Anthony, daughter Debra Eosso and husband Gary, and daughter Donna Sakowski and husband Daniel. Francis leaves behind 14 loving grandchildren, Brian, Christina and husband Travis, Lauren and husband Alex, Elizabeth and husband Richard, Joseph, Nicole, Courtney and husband Nathan, Robert and wife Antonette, Nicholas, Teresa, Jessica and husband Thomas, Dominick, Danielle and Gabrielle. Francis also leaves behind 11 loving great grandchildren, Anthony, Demitrius, Dorothy, Alyssa, Rebecca, Alexandra, Rose Eliana, Everett, Brielle, Madelyn, and Rose Marie.

Francis was loved by all - just as he loved all. His family was his whole world. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed simple gestures of love with his wife Rose such as leaving her notes by the coffee pot, cutting her homemade pizza with her pizza scissors, and taking her for walks along the water in Keyport and Ocean Grove. He was the biggest fan and supporter of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren attending games, school socials, trips to the park and library.  He proudly wore their alumni sun visors and greeted all the little ones with a great big Hooray Pop Pop. Francis had a wonderful life and will be greatly missed, never forgotten and always loved.
