Carol L. Tanay, of Farmingdale, passed away on January 3, 2015, at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Born in Point Pleasant, she has resided in Farmingdale for the past 42 years. Carol enjoyed family vacations in Hatteras, NC, and spending time with her three grandchildren. She loved working in the garden and a good lobster.
She was predeceased by her parents, Harcourt and Betty Ward, and her sister, Elaine Ward. Carol is survived by her husband of 42 years, Stephen; her daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Sean Hybbeneth of Jackson; her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen III and Amanda Tanay of Brick; her two siblings and their spouses, Janice and George Phelan of Miami, FL, and Paul and Karen Ward of Manasquan; her three grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, and Marra; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E Main St, Freehold, on Wednesday, January 7, from 4 to 7 PM. The Funeral Service will be 6:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
