Obituary of Joseph John Scafidi

Joseph John Scafidi, 88, of Manalapan, passed away on Tuesday, February 8th, 2022, at home. Joseph was born in Brooklyn, New York, and resided in Manalapan for 56 years. Joseph was employed as a Copy Processing Editor for Time Inc, in New York City before retiring. Joseph managed Manalapan Baseball for 15 years and was the founder of the Manalapan Tee Ball League.  He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church and a fundraiser for the building of the church.

Joseph was predeceased by his wife Brenda; sisters Margaret and Lorraine.  He is survived by daughter Donna and her husband Joseph; sons John and his wife Ann, Stephen and his wife Susanne, and Joseph and his wife Barbara; sister Nancy; grandchildren Laura, Gina, John, Angelo, Sarah, Ryan, Nicholas, Tommy, Olivia, Alexandra and Jack; and great grandchildren Ella and Joseph.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, February 11th, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.  A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan on Saturday, February 12th at 11:30am.
