Obituary of Matthew Gerard Caputo

Caputo, Matthew G 98, Born Sept 8, 1923 in Jersey City and raised on S.I.N.Y. Passed away Jan.16, 2022.

He married Geraldine (Andriulli) who pre deceased him in 2011. They were married 62 years. Matthew served his country in WW II in the US Army from 1943 -1946 in the Solomon Islands and Philippine Islands. He was awarded The Bronze Star and The Purple Heart.

He worked for Marine Aviation (S.I. Ferrys) on S.I.N.Y and retired in 1985. Matthew made his home in Morganville, NJ with his son Matthew and Family. For the past 3 years he resided in Galloway, NJ with his daughter Geri.

He is survived by his 3 children Marie, Geri and Matthew, five grandchildren 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, January 24^th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 25^th at 11:00 AM.
