Obituary of Lori Barbera

Please share a memory of Lori to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lori was born on November 12, 1945 in Palermo, Italy, to the late Michelangela and Raffaele Dimitri.  Lori was a kind, caring and loving wife to Maurizio. They lived a happily married life for 54 years. A wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, she was completely devoted and dedicated to her family.

She was equally devoted to managing the family’s retail store, La Casa Della Bomboniera, along with Maurizio, her sister Liliana and brother-in-law, Salvatore Barone. Together, they succeeded in achieving The American Dream. Lori was a savvy business woman who was very proud of their creation.

Lori is survived by her husband Maurizio and her children, Linda and Francesco,  daughter-in-law Carolyn Barbera, and son-in-law Robert Goglia.

She was deeply loved and adored by her five grandchildren, Roberto, Valentina, Nina, Emma, and Julian.

She is also survived by her two sisters and a brother, Benedetta, Liliana and Giudo and their spouses Stefano Giacalone, Salvatore and Paula, her dear sister-in-law Maria Dimitri and many nieces and nephews.

Lori always left a lasting impression on everyone she met.  She touched them in a way that was truly genuine and radiant. Her friends and family are so saddened by her loss.

Many people have reached out with the most touching words describing her beauty, strength, generosity, and love of life. Lori will be missed by all.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Sunday, January 16th, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.  A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church on Monday, January 17th at 10:00 AM.
