Obituary of John Gorenc
John L. Gorenc, 92, of Marlboro, NJ passed away at home on Dec. 23rd. He was born on Aug.23, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI. After losing his parents at a young age, John worked hard to ensure a productive and successful life by putting himself through college at Marquette University and earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He spent the entirety of his career in industrial power-related sales for General Electric.
John is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Nancie, their four sons and daughters-in-law Dave and Angela of Delavan, WI, Dan and Joan of Harrisburg, PA, Jim and Robin of Manalapan, NJ, and PJ and Carla of West Chester, PA, 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A devoted and selfless family man, John would do anything for his loved ones. He was an enthusiastic participant in his sons’ childhood activities and was president of Marlboro Pop Warner. His shouts of “Lean into him!” while rooting for his boys on the wrestling mat will forever be etched in their minds. He enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and squirrels in his backyard, participating in the family football pool, and spending endless hours at his desk in the study. He was quite feisty, and the poems he wrote for all family celebrations were always a hit. A devout Catholic, he was a loyal parishioner of St Gabriel’s Parish in Marlboro, NJ.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, December 30th at the St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, 549 County Rd. 520, Marlboro, NJ 07746. A private funeral mass will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Gabriel’s Parish, St. Vincent DePaul Society, https://www.stgabrielsparish.org/78.
