I was just shocked and sadded to learn of the death of my dear friend Hedi from college. We met while standing in line at Montclair State University to get our photo id's. I was Steg and she was Sulikowski so we were next to each other. We fast became friends and found out we had the same major, business education. We were both going to be teachers. We had so much fun back in the day. She lived in Perth Amby and I in Waldwick (Bergen County). We were in the same classes together and on the week-ends I would either drive down to her house or her mine. We would go to various places to have fun. One weekend we went to Boston by bus on a college field trip. It was May of 1974. My cousin lives there and he showed up around. We had a blast. We graduated together in 1975 and I got married and moved to Florida. We lost touch after that because there was no internet and I guess writing was dificult. I am so sorry to hear now of her death over a year ago. She was a terrifc girld and we had so much fun together along with her girlfriend Debbie as I remember. My deepest condolences to her family

I met Hedi many years ago when I became part of the Sulikowsk family. My husband is Hedi's cousin. Our family, like most familes, were busy raising their children and just all around busy as we all are today. My husband had the honor of photograpghing John and Hedi's wedding and later in life the communion of the children. As time went on we sort of fell into the trap I spoke of above. Each involved with their own heartaches and daily life.
Two and a half years ago I received a call from Hedi telling me what was happening with her. Asking me to accompany her to a Dr. vsit. The rest is history for Hedi and I. The last 11 months were torture for Hedi. She stayed strong through each and every step. During these months spent in her company I came to learn a new side of Hedi. One that gave me strength and courage to continue to be at her side no matter what.
We had many conversations during our time together. Most of which centered around her children, Alexa and Anthony. Her most proud accomplishments by far. Hedi had a zest for life always reaching for stars. She recently told me she wanted to visit Poland.
I know Hedi is now resting, without pain, in the hands of Jesus.
Rest in peace our dear cousin you will not be forgotton. Matthew and Michele Sulikowski
