Obituary of Lawrence Evola

Lawrence Evola, 99, of Manalapan passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Twp., NJ.  He was born in New York and was a real estate broker and owner of Mid Island Realty in Staten Island, NY.  

Mr. Evola was a WWII Army Veteran.  He had a real zest for life which included his passion for music and ballroom dancing.  Lawrence could be seen on the dance floor at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City dancing Salsa, Lindy hop, and his favorite Cha-Cha.  In addition to his love for music which included Italian and Latin music, he enjoyed watching Turner Movie classics, including Westerns and loved the Family Feud game show.  Lawrence adored his family and loved spending quality family time with them.  He enjoyed gardening, and working outdoors on home projects.  

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 31 years Santa and daughter-in-law Kathleen.  He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Amelia of Lancaster, SC; his son, John of Forest City, PA; daughter, Linda Preuninger of Kernersville, NC; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Larry Sgarlata of Lancaster, SC; his son, Richard of Staten Island, NY; his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Luann of Manalapan, NJ; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, John Jr., Danielle, Mario, Kerrie, Christina, Lauren P, Lauren E, Lisa, Kenneth Jr., Thomas; 7 great-grandchildren; Evan, Olivia, Trevor, Kaelyn, Brea, Jasper and Lorenzo.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 4-8 pm at the Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ  07726.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 10:00 am at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.  To find directions or leave a message of condolence, please visit our website at www.freemanfuneralhomes.com.
