Obituary of Marvin Adler
Marvin Adler, Age 88, of Marlboro, NJ passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at home.
Marvin was born in 1932 to Irving and Frances (Shapiro) Adler in Brooklyn, NY. He is predeceased by his wife, Barbara (McLaughlin) Adler, and his stepson, Kevin Lipschutz. He is survived by his son, Douglas and his wife Amy (Vlacich) Adler, his beloved grandchildren, Katherine “Katie” and Sean of Manalapan, NJ; brother Dr. Howard Adler and his wife Judy of New York, NY; brother Steven Adler and his wife Tina of Hewlett, NY; and nieces and nephews: David Adler, Dr. Jeffrey Adler, Kim Blackert, Robert Hamilton, Danny Hamilton, Sara Hamilton, Danny Hermann, Karen Kires, Jeff Levine, Susanne Markowski, Janine Richardson, and Michele Sapero.
Marvin grew up in Queens, NY and served in the Army Reserves for over 20 years. He was a Local 3 IBEW NYC Electrician for 40 years and spent half of that time at the World Trade Center as a Shop Steward Electrician retiring in 1993.
Marvin and Barbara lived in Old Bridge, NJ before settling in Freehold, NJ where they lived for 20 years. In 1996, they moved to Manchester, NJ and lived there until 2005 when they returned to Monmouth County and settled in Marlboro, NJ.
An outdoor service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 starting promptly at 1pm at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ. Please arrive at 12:30pm, due to a very tight schedule at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marvin’s name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
