Obituary of Gerald Gheraldi

Gerald Gheraldi, 96, of Manalapan, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Born in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, living in South Beach, Staten Island before moving to Manalapan 35 years ago. Gerald served his county proudly during WWII in The Battle of Normandy Beach.  He worked for the New York City Transit Authority for 25 years before retiring.  Gerald loved gardening, especially tending to his fig trees and tomatoes.  He enjoyed woodworking projects, and the “Bungalow” in the Poconos and eating Zuppa di Pesce.  Family was always #1 to Gerald. 

Gerald was predeceased by his wife Mary.  He is survived by children Geraldine and her husband John; Marilyn and her husband Bobby; Carolyn and her husband Donald and Jeffrey and his wife Rosanne; as well as 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. 

Friends and family are invited to visit on Wednesday, June 16^th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 17^th, 2021 at 10:30 AM.
