Craig was such a joy to be with during our time with NBC Sports. We had many long days and nights together and he was a source of relief with his humor and quick wit. I will always cherish our time together and pray for his salvation.

Craig's smile. That's the first image that came to me upon receiving the sad news about his passing. It conveyed warmth and friendship. And it was the same when he would hit the winning shot in a pickup basketball game when we were kids, or when I saw him as a man behind a camera in a big arena after shouting hello to him.
To his family I send my deepest sympathies on your loss of a fine, decent, warm-hearted man.

My greatest memories of my brother in law Craig is how much he loves the lord, how much he speaks about him in good times and not so good times in his walk of life but most off all of how he wants all those he loves to except our lord and savior so we will all see each other again.... Craig isn’t not good bye.... it’s until we see each other again in Heaven!!! Yes, you are missed very much but the best is WE will see each other again... I love you very much..... craiger.....i will miss our chats about anything and everything...
it didnt matter what we discussed...and it was over 20 years of it....
it didnt matter what we discussed... because every time we did.. it was like we never left off from the previous time...
and each time... was always a pleasure to see you..
your wit and sarcasm got me thru many grinding days of monotony...
the chats were never about work....just bullshitting about LIFE...
and.... why aren't these damn kids at home?
why are they out this late on a school night?
and why is volume so damn loud in here? :>) LOL!!
rest in peace buddy , keep the seat warm...see you on the flipside.

My first job was with Craig on a monster truck show as his cable puller. I was waiting to run around with him and he said to me we are not moving from here best statement ever. I consider Craig the best high first and b-ball hand held cameraman I have worked with. He was a joy to be around with his quick wit and humor. Craig was a unbelievable person who was loved by everyone.
I consider him to be a good friend and will be greatly missed.

I always enjoyed working with Craig on the NBA and the Olympics. He was quick-witted and funny; a joy to be around. He kept it light and entertaining while always delivering the best shots. For close to 20 years I had the pleasure of working, talking, and laughing with Craig. Rest In Peace, my friend.

I am so sorry to read about Craig’s illness and his passing. Although we haven’t seen each other for a lot of years Craig and I hung around with the same Matawan guys for quite a few years…playing sports….a lot of sports…..brief time traveling together out in California and just having fun. Craig and I actually worked together at a plastic manufacturing plant in Cliffwood – and he and I would race forklifts thru the warehouse. I loved the guy and his infectious smile and laugh.
But most importantly I saw a spiritual side from Craig. After I came to faith in Christ, Craig and I would have deep conversation – both of us coming from the same religious background. He would visit JoAnn and I at our apartment in Old Bridge to see our new born baby – but it generally turned into a spiritual conversation about Jesus. Think for a brief time he visited Sayre Wood Bible Church with me…..and went to a Phillies came with my baseball / sports minded Pastor. Jesus and sports conversation – Craig was in.
We lost contact thru these years – but I was not surprised to read a tribute that mentioned his faith in Christ. My Matawan Brother is home. Jesus said “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; For I go to prepare a place for you………..where I am , there you will be also.”
I will see Craig again….and we will laugh and rejoice in the presence of a Holy God.

I've been blessed to have shared time and space, on this earth, with Craig for 30+ years. A strong, robust, caring, and faithful man was he. His memory and spirit will remain with me throughout the rest of my conscious days. I have missed his presence for over a year now, and will never discuss nor pray to GOD again with him. But someday, I trust, I shall be amongst him in GODHEAD forever and ever. Rest in Peace Craig.

To all of the Pianko Family,
I am very sorry to hear about Craig's battle and passing. He will be missed by those here on earth but we know that he is in a better place. I will always be thankful for him sharing his testimony and Good News of Jesus with my Mom.
Revelation 14:13
Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”
God's mercies always, Carol Kopp
