Obituary of Daniel Michael Savino

Daniel M. Savino, 88, of Freehold, NJ passed away at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.  He was born in Union City and resided in Freehold, NJ before moving to PA. Daniel joined the USMC in 1951 and while on active duty was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 3 stars, Purple Heart Medal, UN Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean PUC, Good Conduct Medal and The Presidential Unit Citation.  Daniel was most proud of his service with the U.S. Marine Corps and was an active member of the Corporal Philip A. Reynolds Marine Corp Detachment in Freehold.   Daniel retired from Brockway Glass where he was a foreman for over 20 years and the Monmouth County Court House, where he was a court clerk.

He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary Savino and his sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Domenic.  He is survived by his wife Patricia; 3 Children Glenn, Catherine (Christine) and Cynthia (Sandy); and sister, Rose Marie.

A visitation will be held Sunday, May 16 from 2:00 – 6:00pm with a funeral service at 5:30pm at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold, NJ.  Interment of cremains will be at a later date at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the V.F.W. of Freehold, 50 Waterworks Road, Freehold, NJ  07728.
