Obituary of Domenico Mittiga
Domenico Mittiga, better known as Dominick, 63, of Manalapan, NJ passed away on Friday April 23, 2021, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ. He was born in Plati, Calabria, Italy and lived in Brooklyn, NY and Staten Island, NY before moving to Manalapan, NJ 31 years ago. Dominick was an Manager for Perry’s Brick Company in Staten Island for 30 years.
He was a selfless person who always wanted to help those he loved. He had hands of gold and never gave up on any task until it was completed to perfection. His main focus in life was providing for his family and making sure everyone was always well taken care of. His love for food and feeding everyone around him was his passion and during his retirement years he elevated his cooking skills to include baking cakes and desserts for all to enjoy at any given moment.
He is survived by his loving wife Camille of 36 years; his three children, his son Michael and his daughter-in-law Vera Mittiga of Manalapan, NJ; his son Joseph Mittiga of Freehold, NJ and his daughter Marisa Mittiga of Glendale, Arizona; his two grandchildren, Shane and Dominic; his sister Maria Marzano of Turin, Italy; his brother Antonio and his wife Graziella Mittiga of Deltona, FL; his brother Giuseppe and his wife Gisella Mittiga of Deltona, Fl; his sister Caterina and Hassan Tavassoli of Great Falls, VA; his brother Rocco and his wife Zulema Mittiga of Brooklyn, NY and by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Dominick had unending love for his family and just loved being with them. He was one of the most loyal and caring friends anyone can wish for. He was always making people smile and laugh. He was the king of entertainment.
A visitation will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan NJ. A funeral service will be on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Green Wood Cemetery, 500 25th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11232. In keeping with the CDC Guidelines, masks and social distancing are required.
