Obituary of Walter Magiera
Walter Adam Magiera, 76, of Freehold, New Jersey, passed away peacefully the morning of Wednesday, April 7, 2021, in his home with beloved wife Wanda of fifty years, daughter Monica and son Walter by his side.
Walter was a man of integrity and kindness. He was always there with a smile on his face. Walter would drop everything to lend a helping hand, willing to give you the shirt off his back. A devoted husband, father, uncle, son, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, he had loving relationships with all.
Walter Adam was born in Malowka, Poland, to Stanley and Anna Magiera. He came to the United States with his family and naturalized in 1960. Walter continued to celebrate his Polish roots as an active member of the Sons of Poland for over 40 years.
Walter was an avid car and motorcycle lover and a jack of all trades. He could build or fix anything - a house, a car, you name it and he would find a way. A hard worker who enjoyed his day of rest on Sundays, sitting in the sun and relaxing with his animals.
Walter attended Newark Technical School of Engineering and Technology, earning his Mold Maker title. It served him well at General Motors as a Tool & Dye Maker where he retired after more than thirty years.
Walter is survived by his loving wife, Wanda, sharing over 50 years of marriage. Together they had three children: Monica Magiera, Dorothy (Ernest) Broskoskie and Walter S. (Debbie) Magiera. Walter was also the proud grandfather of four: Jessica Broskoskie, Eric Broskoskie, Walter J. Magiera and Alexis Magiera and great-grandfather of Dylan Chippi. He is predeceased by sister Stella (John) Nolan and survived by sisters Bernice (John) Walusz and Mary Magiera.
Walter Magiera was one of kind, no one could even come close. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him dearly. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
