Obituary of Ada Freeman

Ada Schanck Freeman age 92 of Tinton Falls died Thursday at home. Born in Freehold and raised in the Adelphia section of Howell Twp. She resided in Freehold for most of her adult life before moving to Seabrook Village 11 years ago. A graduate of Rider College, School of Business, now Rider University. Ada was first employed at Central National Bank/First National Bank, Freehold for 10 years and then as the secretary to the Principal at Freehold Intermediate School, Freehold for 5 years. Ada was also the Bookkeeper at Freeman Funeral Home for 35 years until her retirement in 2001, where she also served as Secretary-Treasurer.  Mrs. Freeman was a member of the Reformed Church of Freehold. A charter member of The Junior Woman’s Club of Freehold and a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Haddonfield Chapter. She was predeceased by her parents Kortenius H. Schanck and Carrie Buck Pittenger. Surviving is her loving husband of 63 years, William H. Freeman; 3 sons F. Gilday (Dr. Kathleen) of Cherry Hill, NJ; Kevin B. (Maura) of Freehold Twp. and Glenn A. (Barbara L.) of Manasquan; 8 grandchildren Ryan, Rebecca, Corinne, William, Jaclyn, Victoria, Natalie and Richard and 2 great granddaughters Sophia and Charlotte. Calling hours will be Sunday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main St., Freehold. Funeral Services will be Monday 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent, NJ
