I did not know Albert but have been blessed to know his son Joe. It sounds like the world was a better place for having Albert here. He is someone I wish I could have met. Praise God that he is now with our Lord where I am sure he heard "Well done good and faithful servant." My condolences to all his family and friends. May God give you peace as you reflect on all the wonderful memories you have of him.

To Charlotte and family, Although we are a long way away in Alaska we have come to rely on Al as the keeper of all the information on our families. He has been our historian who never misses a birthday, anniversary or other important event. He has been the glue that held us together and once in a blue moon we would all have a meal together at Newark Airport en route to somewhere in the world and catch up on all the details. Those few meals have remained memorable and Al will be sorely missed. More so for all of you who added love and excitement and pride to his life. We mourn your loss. With our love, Lorna Saam Herrera and Roger Herrera

I have so many good memories of Albert! I visited from Canada, my brother and his family (Hilary and Miriam) many times over the years. Al was always so warm and friendly. He was generous and kind. He never missed a birthday message to me. We spent many hours talking over my visits about his childhood, his Faith, family etc. The last time I saw him was at my brother's birthday celebration in December 2019. In his never-ending generosity, he treated us all out to brunch the next day. -- In his free time he sent countless group emails (I was on his email list) trying to expose the lies that are out there and fighting world corruption. He never wearied fighting the good fight! --- May you rest in peace! Love Rachel, Peter and family.

As a longtime friend of Joe,
I have seen the tremendous support of Mr and Mrs Simon at every music concert.
I have witnessed the strength, faith, and the bond within the Simon family and was literally moved to tears to hear them sing together as a family at a birthday party.
All of these experiences are a testament to the tremendous father figure that Mr Simon was and will continue to be from heaven. You are truly blessed to have such a wonderful, loving father.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I’m fortunate that I had the opportunity to get to know Mr. Simon while I was growing up and our families attended church and music camp together. His example of devotion to God, his family, and his community will remain with me. I was always impressed by how open and welcoming he was with everyone, and how he would take the time to talk with people and help them know that they were valued. He was a kind, loving person who will be greatly missed. We pray for the entire extended Simon family and send our sympathy and love. Jeff, Denise, and Maya

Dear Charlotte and children. How sad we are to lose Al. We are reminded of our times with him during the ALIVE days. As Al said "WE are the church" I dont know if that could have happened without his leadership. How blessed we are to have been part of that little community. So many good memories. Home school religious ed programs. Planning and participating in meaningful liturgies. Gaining an understanding of our old testament roots. Our first Holy Thursday seder! Fun camping trips and cooking pounds and pounds of pasta to feed our hungry families.
Over the years we have kept in touch and for that we are glad. How he will be missed, but I know he is "up there" organizing things and offering his wonderful insights. Our prayers for all of you as you go through grieving the loss of Al and remembering him in joy and gratitude! love Carol and Wally Bennett and family

Pop-pop oh how you will be missed. They always say not to take things for granted because you’ll miss them when they’re gone. I had tried so hard to appreciate everyday I had with you and yet it’s hard to feel like it was enough. Whatever name you wanted to be called, Pop-pop, Grandpaw, etc., you were always the best grandfather a girl could ask for. To have a grandfather so involved in your life, and one that’s is mentally there and with a sense of humor is blessing upon blessing upon blessing. I only pray that my memory will stay as sharp as yours was and my love as unconditional.

So much to say Pop, but still struggling to find the words. I still can't process that you're really gone.
I love the memories, especially from recent years, of conversations we've had about faith, work, and family.
I love remembering how I would watch you engage with my kids (and grandkids) individually and express interest in each of them for who they are, loving them in the same way.
I love remembering how you often expressed tough love by saying 'no', setting boundaries, and modeling high expectations for how we are to live as Christ followers ... but ALWAYS had my back.
I love reflecting on lessons I learned just by watching how you lived your life.
I loved having you bless my Bible study for the past year, sharing your knowledge of the Old Testament and the Hebrew language.
I love how you loved Mom fiercely and I pray that you will continue to watch over her.
And most of all, I love that we will be together in eternity.
Until then, I love you and already miss you Dad. Receive your eternal reward for a life well-lived.
Joshua 24:15 "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

When I was younger, I never really greeted people when they came to my house. Pop-Pop eventually pointed that out to me and after that I would always greet him with a hug. The last time I saw him, covid was getting really bad and since I work in healthcare I didn’t want to risk giving something to him, so I didn’t give him a hug. I could tell he noticed and looked like he was waiting for one, little did I know that would’ve been my last opportunity to give him a hug. Having Pop-Pop around my whole life, I took our time for granted. I always loved the family newsletters he wrote and I read every single one. I wish I had told him that. He was the only reason I’d check my email and I’m still subconsciously waiting to see “Simon Extended Family eNewsletter” pop up in my inbox. He told me to send him an email about what’s going on in my life so he could put something in the newsletter about it, but I never did. I was so excited to tell him about getting accepted into colleges, but I never got the chance. Life is so precious and our time with one another is so short. I’ll never forget you and everything you’ve taught me. This isn’t a goodbye forever, more of an I’ll see you later. I love you Pop-Pop

Albert Simon was kind to me and made me feel special. He was good at that. He would never blow smoke your way – in his later years, he was able to deliver needed criticism with diplomacy and wisdom, woven with a subtle love. His attention to detail in making his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren feel noticed and important was never lost on me.
He stood for the principles this country was founded on, desperately seeking for their preservation as a seasoned veteran and fading breed of a true American patriot. He had a genuine concern and true fear for younger generations’ well-being and prosperity, not only for this life but in preparation for the next. As a sort of Jew-gone-Messianic myself, his commitment to the Judaism that Christianity is anchored upon was encouraging during my early years as a new believer. His faith was rooted in good, apologetic Biblical doctrine.
I write this in the past tense as it is difficult to grasp the finality of his passing from this world and the void left in his absence. Now, we know a steadfast believer in Christ is redeemed with a new body. Jesus also mentioned His preparing of a vast mansion with many (clean and uncluttered) rooms, which is a relief because I have heard rumors of Albert’s earthly dwelling. More importantly, we can gladly anticipate seeing him again in such paradise, where I am sure he has already been appointed the editor of Heaven’s weekly newsletter. I will look forward to the many back-issues and seeing him again.

I always teased you that you are my favorite uncle. I spent much of my childhood summers out at your home and family time was wonderful. My favorite memory is down at the shore. I remember you and my beloved aunt carting a boat load of goodies for all to share. Regardless of your knowledge on many subjects you treated everyone you met the same . We all gathered at Atlantic City in that tiny 4th floor pool and here comes my uncle in with a big splash. We all laughed and celebrated life and family. My mom and dad are there waiting to share eternity. God speed my dear sweet uncle and remember us all here left behind. We will miss you and your love is in all our hearts. As I am about to get on a plane to come say goodbye, I can’t help but think of the last time I saw you. The moments I took for granted and the time I wasted complaining. All I have left now are the memories we had. You loved to call me “smiley”, which I rarely ever simile, and I think this was because you saw through my “miserable looking” face and knew deep down there was a girl who is confident and outshines the rest. You never failed to make me, and every one of my cousins, feel special. To have over 25 grandchildren and find a way to make everyone feel like they are the only person in the world...that takes a special person, and you pop pop are that special person. Gosh what I would do to see your name pop up on my phone right now. From “mozel tov” bitmojis to birthday card and everything in between. You have taught me to never take time for granted, cherish your life and your family because in the end, family always bring everyone together. YOU brought this family together and you are the reason we are the way we are. So thankful to be able to grow up with you in my life and now you will live as my angel looking over me for the rest.
We love you so so much and forever greatly for you and your legacy.

I'm going to miss Pop-pop so much. He is with Jesus now and I pray he is at peace. Pop-pop loved his family so much that nothing would stop him from going to see the accomplishments of his family. He was the only person who'd you save the card and the envelope of a birthday/ holiday card because of the amazing drawings he would put on them. One of my fondest memory's is him and Mom-mom taking me out to friendly's for my birthday as a kid and I spent most of the time talking about the entire plot to a Lilo & Stitch movie, and how they looked at me like I was crazy (which I am) and having no idea what I'm talking about but still listening to me for the entire thing. My middle name is Albert after him and I couldn't be more proud to have a part of him with me for my entire life. His love is inspiring and it will pass down through his family forever.

We were so lucky to have our grandfather around for as long as we have. Never will you meet someone as supportive and loving. He was there for every event, big or small. You knew that if ever you needed anything he was in your corner. It will be a different world moving on without him, but if there is one thing he has taught all of us it is the importance of family. We are stronger together and we will move forward together. Please enjoy these photos as a mere snapshot into his love and support for us.

Al and I only meet a couple times but he made an impression on me. I immediately liked him. Al’s son Joe Simon is a really true friend of mine because he always tells me the truth. Joe’s dad did a good job raising him. So Al has a high place of respect form me. We will all remember him as a great man. Larry Wyatt.

There are no words to express how much we will miss our dear friend Al. He has been a source of great comfort and support to us over the past forty years. Our many dinners together always finished with a trip to Friendly’s for our triple sundaes to end the evening on a sweet note. Although we looked forward to celebrating all of our birthdays every year, the one never to be missed was July 22nd, Al and Anita’s shared birthday. The many wonderful memories we have of Al will live in our hearts forever. We miss him deeply. Our thoughts and prayers are with Charlotte and the entire Simon family. May you all find comfort in knowing how much he loved each and every one of you.

Joe: Your parents attendance at every one of your concerts over the years always blew me away. As good as the music was the real reason was their pride and love for family!
We will miss Him!

Hello everyone, this is Eric, Katie’s boyfriend. I am tremendously sorry for the loss of Mr. Simon. I first met him at the Simon family Thanksgiving: he was kind, joyful, and easy to talk with. I wish the Simon family all of the strength and courage moving forward; you’re all in my thoughts.
Love,
Eric

Simon Family-
Though we never knew your father, from what we read, he sounds like the most incredibly, Godly man. We are so sorry for your loss, but knowing that your dad RAN into the healing arms of Jesus is the best feeling and should comfort your souls during the difficult time. He is now HOME.

Dear Simon Family,
I am sad and heartbroken to hear about the passing of Al. Al was a pleasure to know and to be able to call a friend. Al made me feel a part of his extended family which he loved, cherished and was so proud of.
Al’s faith was an inspiration to me and a very special person our Lord placed in my life.
Please know you are in my prayers and thoughts and may Our Lord hold Al in His loving care.

If there’s a word to leave for pop pop, it’s LEGACY. He left a legacy of family, hard work, and above all, love. He did all in his power to take care of his family, to be intentional about gathering together, and leaving an imprint on those who he came across. You will be sorely missed, and even though you may not be here, we will still gather and love others as you would’ve wanted it to be. We love you pop pop.
