Obituary of Marfa Pohlid
Marfa Pohlid passed away peacefully with loved ones present on February 2, 2021 in her 96th year at CentraState Medical Center.
She was born in Ukraine and emigrated to the U.S. to start a new life. Marfa and her dear husband worked very hard taking care of their family and the farm in Englishtown, but their home was always filled with family and good friends. She was an excellent cook and baker, and loved to sew and embroider. Marfa loved flowers and was an avid gardener. Summer was her favorite season and she loved spending time at the shore.
Marfa was predeceased by her parents Oleks and Sofia, her brother Walter, and her beloved husband, Michael. She was the dearly loved and cherished mother of Paul (Janet) and Mary (Oryst). Marfa was the most wonderful grandmother of Julia (Michael), Victoria (Christopher), Michael (Cassandra) and Katherine. She was the loving great grandmother of five great grandchildren. Her extended family and dear friends will remember her fondly.
A special thank you to the doctors and staff on the 4th floor at CentraState.
