Obituary of Bruno Rocco Gangemi

Bruno Gangemi, 93, of Marlboro, died after a brief illness on August 2, 2012, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. He was born January 30, 1919 in Jersey City, the son of Sebastian and Francesca (Lazzara) Gangemi. Bruno graduated Ferris High School and served as a medic in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII. He married his sweetheart, Catherine Janelli, first living in Jersey City, then raising their family in Hasbrouck Heights, before settling in Marlboro. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in February. Bruno is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine; their children, Rick (Christine) of Loudonville, NY, Nancy (Bob) Morone of Howell, and Tom (Elaine) of Pembroke Pines, FL; six grandchildren, Bob, Ryan, Jacky, Becky, Melissa and April; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to visit today from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Gabriel's Historic Church, Marlboro. Entombment will follow at the parish mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
