Joan Theresa Higley, born on May 2, 1963, of Freehold passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday November 10, 2014. She was a billing analyst at Med Assets in Oceanport for many years. She was an extremely valuable employee who took immense pride in her work. Her true passion in life was her family. Everyone gave her a great sense of pride and joy. We will never forget her caring and compassionate nature towards all especially her beloved mother. Those who loved Joan knew her passion for sports especially the Dallas Cowboys and watching her nieces and nephews play ball games. "Aunt Joanie" loved them all. Her nurturing and kind soul will never be forgotten. She was predeceased in death by her father, Frederick Higley in 2005. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Higley; brothers, Gary and Liz Higley, Ray and Teri Higley, Joseph and Luba Zaharin Higley; sisters, Lynne and Kevin Mullan, Eileen Korz and companion Vince DiFabritus, Carol and Scott Kurczeski and Peggy and Jared Earhart; 24 nieces and nephews; 15 great nieces and nephews; and a special godson, Christopher Coulson. She also shared many wonderful memories with her best friend, Mrs. Tina Hatton. Visitation will be Thursday Nov. 13, 2014, from 4-8 p.m., at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold.
