Our hearts are aching for you today. We know Maidy was greatly loved by you and will be missed even more. Our family is saddened with her passing.
Maidy made a lasting impression on us because she was so loving, welcoming and devoted to her family. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren. We always wanted to spend more time with her.
To be around her created a sense of calm, enjoyment, and admiration, and she made us laugh, as well. My military career separated us from family, but when we visited we always wanted to be with her and stay longer. Just a few remembrances share some wonderful insights: Maidy truly understood my cousin Jim and the “fire in his belly” that made him so successful. They complemented each other so well On one occasion her wit and sense of humor was on display, when upon seeing Jimmy and myself on our hands and knees picking up spilled berries on her kitchen floor, she said to my wife, Patricia, “see these cousins are both alike… they are impossible.” My mother loved her from the time she first met her when Jimmy became engaged and, in my mother’s later years, Maidy was there for her as “telephone company.” I know from past conversations with my mother, that Maidy was kind, patient and understanding. In recent years, the joy of spending time with her grandchildren, Jackson and Dylan, could be felt through Facebook pictures and comments.
You will be in our hearts and thoughts today and the days ahead. We love you and will pray for the entire family.
