Obituary of Carmela LaVecchia

Carmela LaVecchia 82, of Morganville, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at home. She was born and raised in New York City, lived in Toms River before settling in Morganville 7 years ago.  Before retiring, she was an allergist on Staten Island, NY.  Carmela loved to gamble, but her biggest love was being a mother and grandmother.  

Carmela is predeceased by her mother, Giovaninna Caputo and father Antonio Sciusco; and sister, Connie Wetmore.  She is survived by her loving husband Frank of 62 years; son, Frank and daughter in law Elizabeth; daughter, Lisa Terrizzi and son in law Joseph; sisters Rose Duffy, Jeanette Pelletier, Diana Hanson; brother Anthony Sciuso; grandsons Frank and John LaVecchia; granddaughters Francesca and Lisa Terrizzi.                                                        

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 2 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Manalapan, NJ at 11:30am.  A burial will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold, New Jersey.
