Obituary of Joseph A Hemphill, Jr.

Joseph A. Hemphill Jr., 82, of Freehold, NJ passed away Saturday, August 15^th at home.  He was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived in Freehold, NJ for 48 years.  Mr. Hemphill was a Navy veteran who served his country during Vietnam and worked as a special agent for the FBI prior to his retirement. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Margaret; and is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Ann; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Paul Bestafka of Atlanta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Bethany Hemphill of Jamison, PA; a brother, Kenneth Hemphill of Springfield, PA; and four grandchildren, Tyler and Kendall Breuer and William and Matthew Hemphill.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 10:00-11:30 am at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church in Freehold, NJ.  A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated immediately after at 11:30 am.  Entombment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery Mausoleum in Freehold Twp.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold, NJ  07728.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association at www.2.heart.org.
