Obituary of Margaret Abate Amato

Margaret nee Orciuoli Amato, 92, of Marlboro, passed away on October 8, 2014, at G.L. Thompson Care Center, Wall Township. Born in Newark, she lived in Bloomfield, Marlboro and then Manchester. She worked at Tung Sol, Newark but spend most of her career at Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Newark. Marge loved to travel to Atlantic City and was especially proud of her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Ben Abate in 1968; her second husband, William Amato in 2002; and siblings, Bernie and Gene Orciuoli, Tessie Zarro, Jo Gizzi, Sue Serafino and Rose Lania. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ben and Debra Abate of San Diego, Frank and Eileen Abate of Marlboro, and Mary Jo and Steven Green of Bedford, NY; six grandchildren, Stacey Abate, Scott Abate Dr. Nicole Dielo, Alison Melaugh, Catherine and Bradley Green; and two great grandchildren, Moorea and Tasman Cioppa. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 10 AM, at St. Gabriel's Historic Church, Marlboro.
