Obituary of Kliment T. Tistan

Kliment Tistan,passed away peacefully at his home in Manalapan on October 8, 2014. Predeceased by his loving wife, Ann, of 51 years, he is survived by his daughters Patricia (Rick), Linda (Louis), Janet (Bob), and Karen, and his granddaughters Liz (Eamon) and Emily. Kliment was born in Slovakia and emigrated to the U.S. when he was 8 years old. He was proud to have supervised the instrument lab at Exxon's Bayway Refinery in Linden and served as a radio officer in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He resided in Iselin for many years where he also ran his own home improvement business. Kliment was a hardworking, talented craftsman who loved his family deeply. He was a caring soul who had a generous spirit and warm heart. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 AM until the memorial service at 12:30 PM at Freeman Manalapan-Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
