I am saddened to hear about Ellen's passing. I knew her since the 1970's and even though we lost touch in the last 15 or so years I still thought about her often. She was a kind and very caring person.

Ellen was a loving, caring woman who was a pleasure to be around.
She babysat for her hard working Aunt Eileen Coyle’s kids one summer and it was greatly appreciated.
She was a creative home painter and decorator and a delicious cook. She made an effort to keep in touch with our very large and at times overwhelming side of the family.
She had a loving and respectful marriage that should be modeled by most people that knew them. Ronnie’s, Sabrina’s and Jennifer’s loss is tremendous. Rest in peace Ellen, you deserve it.

Our friendship began 40 years ago when Ellen knocked on my door to see if I had seen anyone going in or out of her apartment-she had just been burglarized. We were next door neighbors in Fresh Meadows and we both had little girls. We were always together back then. Ellen loved the fact that when she was watching her favorite soap ‘General Hospital’ in her apartment (as long as my windows were open) she could hear whatever she might be missing while in the bathroom on my tv because I was watching it also.
My very favorite memory though of our early days together was when we discovered that her daughter (who shall remain nameless) had painted her face, arms, legs and feet ‘bright red’ using Ellen’s lipstick! I would never imagine one tube of lipstick would go so far...
Through both of our family’s big moments we’ve been there together - and I was always bringing ‘apricot jello dessert’ with me - I miss you my friend and will never forget you...you will hold a place in my heart forever. Sue

Your mother was a great women. We were really close being i lived next door. I used to come over all the time and hang with you girls and see how mom was doing your rooms when she did sponge painting. She also had my baby shower in the basement and did all the work and cooked and baked .also hang out a lot with mom and dad and others and had fun times. She will be missed and never forgotten.
