Obituary of Adelaida Baugan Cardinal Grom

Adelaida Grom, 90, of Freehold, passed away on Thursday March 26, 2020, at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold. She was born in the town of Bolinao, in the province of Pangasinan in the Philippines. Upon completion of her nursing degree, she worked with American missionaries becoming a public rural nurse in Bolinao. Adelaida emigrated to the United States in 1957 and had been living in Freehold for the past 36 years. Adelaida was a nurse at Christ Hospital in Jersey City for 25 years before retiring in 1994.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Donald, in 2009, granddaughter Violet in 2012, and her siblings Salvador Cardinal, Ben Cardinal, Pacita Caasi, and Eliseo Cardinal. She is survived by her devoted children Frank, Tom, David, Debbie, Mark, Matthew, and Jonathan; her daughters in law and son in law Caroline, Rita, John, and Julie; her adoring grandchildren Michael and his wife Katie, Frank, David, Daniel, Ryan, Cara, Jules, Lilah, Sascha, Scarlett, Sadie, and Jett; her precious great grandchildren Henry and Jack; her step family Donald, Robert, Noreen, Bea, Louie, Megan, Logan, Hayden, and Baileigh; and siblings Eufemia Carolino, Lilia Garon, Nenita Zurick, and Zenaida Cardinal; as well as countless nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be invited to take part in a Celebration of Adelaida’s life at a time and place to be determined following the conclusion of the current global health crisis.
