I remember Jerry as a kind man, with a chuckle always at the ready. His home was always bustling with family and friends. Holidays were a major production, and many happy memories were made there. Jerry worked hard to support his family, and in his career, helped many people find a new home for a new phase of life. His talent as an artist made his children and grandchildren very proud. In a different set of life circumstances, I could imagine him as a full-time artist. In his later years, whenever his daughter Cathy would ask ‘What can I bring you, Dad?’ the most common reply was ‘more art supplies!’ He quickly became a beloved member of the community in which he spent his final years, happily creating art for his neighbors. Life wasn’t always easy, but Jerry had an easy smile, keen intelligence, a ready wit, and immense love for his family. Even when tragedy struck not once, but twice, taking his two beloved daughters much too early, Jerry carried on, doing his best to cheer those around him. His legacy is undeniable. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to the entire Andriessen family.
