Obituary of Ann Sherman Walls

Ann Sherman Walls, 99 years old, of Rock Hall, MD passed away on June 12, 2019. She was born at home in Scobeyville , NJ to the late Katherine & John Sherman on August 6, 1919. She was preceded in death by three husbands; Ted Martin, Donald Clark & Jesse Bates Walls; her sister Harriet Davison, brother Edwin Sherman, niece Margaret Saker all formerly of NJ; step son J B Walls of Chestertown, MD; and many friends. She is survived by her step children Ted Martin Jr. of Golden Valley, AZ, Loretta (Richard) Cudnik of Frankford, DE, Donald(Sara) Clark of Centreville, MD , William  &  Samuel (Carol) Walls, Carolyn Spray & step daughter-in-law, Margaret Walls all of Chestertown, MD; niece Patricia (John) Campbell of Manasquan NJ; nephews Ray (Margot) Davison of Murrells Inlet SC & Wes (Linda) Sherman of Oceanport NJ; many step-grandchildren & many great grandchildren; several grand & many great grand nieces & nephews; several special friends, including Lynn Witmer of Chestertown, MD.

Ann was raised on the Sherman family farm in Scobeyville, NJ. She held various jobs over her lifetime, she worked as a secretary at Fort Monmouth, NJ during WW II, Freehold Courthouse during the 1950’s, as a teller in Sudlersville & Centreville Banks, MD during the 1960’s, 70’s & 80’s. She was past member of Colts Neck NJ  Reformed Church, member of Engleside MD UMC & attended Crumpton MD UMC of late.   She continued to drive and maintain a home in Chestertown into her 90’s, leaving her home in 2012.  She maintained an apartment in Chestertown until 2017 when she moved into an assisted living facility in Rock Hall, MD.

Service & arrangements are being made through Fellows Family Funeral Home in Millington, MD. A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Crumpton UMC, MD. Interment & graveside   service will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 11 o’clock in Atlantic Cemetery, Colts Neck, NJ.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Colts Neck Reformed Church, PO Box 57, or at the church, located at 135 Route 537, Colts Neck, NJ 07722; or to the charity of your choice.
