Obituary of Albert Joseph Freund

Albert Joseph Freund, 87, of Plantation, Florida, formerly of Guttenberg, Ridgefield and Tenafly, NJ, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012, in Florida. Born in Pittstown, NJ, he graduated from Guttenberg schools, Memorial High School in West NY, NJ and attended Pace Institute as well as the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. He grew up in the family textile business in NJ and became the owner of Suburban Knitting Mill, Hollywood, FL, where he designed and manufactured children's, ladies and men's outerwear garments for over 50 years. He was a founding member and served as a Vestry member of St. Benedict's Episcopal Church in Plantation, FL. He was also Committee Member/Merit Badge Counselor of Boy Scout Troop 195 and a former member of the Ft. Lauderdale Power Squadron. Albert was a kind, gentle and generous husband and father who fully enjoyed the company of his family. He also liked deep-sea fishing, photography and bowling. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Emily Freund. He is survived by his loving wife, Muriel and their three sons, Alan, Bruce and Mark Freund.
