Obituary of Dominick Russano
Dominick Russano, 92, of Toms River, NJ, formerly of Great Kills, Staten Island, passed away on Friday February 1, 2019 at Saint John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, CA after a brief illness. Dominick was born in Brooklyn NY and was a proud World War II veteran, having served in the famed 10th Mountain Division, the Army’s ski troops, from 1944 to 1946. After the war, Dom became a printer and, with three of his brothers, owned Russ Printing where he worked for 50 years until his retirement. A man who cherished family, in 1951 he married Rita (nee Milani) and together they raised two daughters, Linda and Janet, and became the centerpiece of the Milani clan. Dom and his twin sister Gloria are the youngest of nine children of Frank and Josephine Russano. He was predeceased by his parents, and by his seven older siblings, George, Michael, Vera, Mary, Phyllis, John and Armand. Dom is survived by Rita, his loving wife of 67 years, Linda and her husband Bob, Janet and her husband Frank, three grandchildren, Cristin, Dominick and Mary, his twin sister Gloria, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan on Friday February 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. There will be a service at the funeral home on Saturday February 9 at 10:00 am followed by burial at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
