Obituary of Gilda Pizzimenti

Please share a memory of Gilda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Gilda Pizzimenti passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November, 28th at home with loving family by her side. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 21, 1927 to the late Immacolata and Macrino Bonaparte.

Gilda spent her early years working in the buying offices of Montgomery Ward and Macy's. She later assisted in the law offices of her brother Otto.

After marrying and having children, the family moved to Staten Island where she raised her daughters and worked for the New York City public schools for the remainder of her working years.

From humble means, she and her 4 brothers always believed while it was the worst of times, it was the best of times. Growing up during The Depression and the heartache  of WWll they quickly learned the truly important things in life are the simple things and the loving relationships we share with others. Despite the hardships, their childhood was truly a happy one.

Gilda's love and devotion to family always remained her priority.

Her happiest moments were family gatherings,  cherishing those times. Becoming a grandmother was her greatest joy, her 6 grandchildren adored her. Gilda was known for her kind heart, nurturing nature and compassionate, gentle soul by all who loved her.

Gilda is preceded in death by her husband John, beloved daughter Linda, and brothers Joseph and Otto Bonaparte. She is survived by her daughter Diane and husband Roberto Ordonez, son-in-law John Ciavattoni, 6 grandchildren: Anthony & Brianda, Nicole & Thomas, John, Jacqueline, Tico and Christopher, great grandchildren Annabella Linda and Anthony,  brothers Napoleon (Nick)  and Mario Bonaparte, beloved cousin who was truly a sister, Carmella Martino, and countless nieces and nephews.
