Obituary of Henry Lee Saurborn
Henry ‘Hank’ Saurborn, 80, of Toms River, passed away at Southern Ocean Medical Center on Friday, November 16, 2018. He was born in Fairmont, West Virginia and was a lifelong Manalapan resident. Prior to retirement, Hank was a self-employed General Contractor. He served 40+ years with the Manalapan Twp. Fire Company #1 and was an ex-chief of the department. Hank was a Life Member and served as a delegate to the New Jersey State Firemen’s Relief Association. Hank was also Manalapan Township’s first Fire Marshall, and he served many terms on the Manalapan Twp. Planning Board and volunteered for the Manalapan Twp. Bureau of Fire Prevention.
Hank was predeceased by his daughter Mary Beth. He is survived by his wife JoAnn; son Henry and wife Lori; son Marc and wife Lisa; son Daniel; brothers Paul Saurborn, Jr. and Jack Mosher; grandchildren Tyler, Brandon, Jordan, Ryan, Hunter, Hannah Rose and Julia.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Monday, November 19th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A funeral service will take place during visitation on Tuesday, November 20th from 10:30 – 11:30 am at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home located at 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.
