Obituary of Carl R. Pardo

Carl R. Pardo, 88, of Morganville, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he has resided in Morganville for the past 44 years. He was the manager for Waldbaums Supermarket on Staten Island prior to his retirement. Mr. Pardo served his country in the United States Marine Corps on Iwo Jima during WWII. He was a member of the SI Marine Corps League Detachment 246, CPL Philip A. Reynolds Marine Corps League, Freehold and the VFW Post 4374, Freehold and a communicant of St. Gabriel's R.C Church, Marlboro. He was predeceased by his wife Stella in 1973 and his son Michael in 2005. Carl is survived by his two daughters and son-in-law, Linda Pardo of Morganville and Carol and Idillio Cilfone of Manalapan; two grandchildren, Kristen and Luke Cilfone; and 8 nieces and nephews, Joannie and Dino Palladino of Brick, Ginger and Anthony Falcone of Columbus, Anthony and Carol Scandiffio of Manalapan, Toni and Joe Giamarino of Lakewood, Ginger Savino of Freehold, Eleanor Marino of Marlboro, Jeanne and Mike Sollozzo of Monroe and Don and Joanne Cilfone of Morganville. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, July 22nd from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Marine Corps League service will be at 7 PM with VFW services to follow A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 am at St. Gabriel's Historic Church, Marlboro. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
