Obituary of Marc Herbert Rapps

Please share a memory of Marc to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marc H. Rapps, 65, of Manalapan, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. "Just a kid from Brooklyn…" That's what you'd hear from Marc if you asked him who, or where he was from. He was so much more than that. Born in Brooklyn to Jacob and Selma Rapps, Marc was a combat medic for the U.S. Army who faithfully and honorably served his country in Vietnam. He was a small business owner for many years and a great friend to everyone at the Port Authority of NY/NJ where he finished his career. Transplanted into Manalapan in 1988, Marc cherished every moment he spend with his wife, Linda. He loved the Yankees and never ever tired of talking about fishing to his brother, Fred, or lifelong friend, Joel. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his two sons and a daughter-in-law, Peter-John of Union and Anthony and Suzanne of Cherry Hill; the sunshine of his life, his grandson, Giovanni; his brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Karen of East Meadow, NY; and two nieces, Jamie and Allison. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, at 1:30 PM, at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
