Sophie Molnar, 90, formerly of Colts Neck, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014, at The Manor, Freehold. Mrs. Molnar was born April 8, 1924 in Passaic, NJ where she attended St. Joseph School and Passaic High School. In 1943 she married Charles S. Molnar Sr. of Garfield, NJ and they lived in Lodi and Paramus until moving to Colts Neck in 1965. She enjoyed summers with her family in Stone Harbor, NJ. Sophie was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Colts Neck and was a former member of the Mary Martha Guild. She worked in Passaic in quality control testing rubber for rafts used in WWII and with fabrics/textiles for various WWII uniforms. Mrs. Molnar was predeceased by her husband, her daughter, Dr. Kathleen Brown, and grandson, Craig Molnar. She is survived by brother, Aloysius Kazmierczak of Poland, OH; sons, Dr. Michael Molnar and his wife, Shelley of Warren, and Charles Molnar Jr. and his wife, Joan of Farmingdale; daughters, Claire Molnar of East Windsor and Audrey Mostrowski and her husband, Victor of Mercerville; son-in-law, William Brown of Ashburn, VA; and grandchildren, Brooke, Gregory, Andrew, Natalie, Leanna and Aleksandra. Friends and family are invited to visit on Tuesday, April 15th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Wednesday at St. Mary's Church, Colts Neck. Interment will follow at St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Marlboro.
