Obituary of Michael John McAteer

Michael J. McAteer, 63, of Manalapan, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, he has resided in Manalapan for the past 31 years. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Manalapan. Mike was a stock broker and a member of the New York Stock Exchange Alumni. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Jane McAteer; his brother, Jack; and his brother-in-law, Robert Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia; his three children, Kathleen, Kristen and Michael McAteer, all of Manalapan; his siblings, Kevin and his wife, Terri of Spring Lake Heights, and Rod of Manalapan; his wife's family, Joseph and Carmen Thompson of AZ, Susan and Gerry Bradley of NC, and Mary Thompson of NJ; and many nieces, nephews and cousins on both sides of the family. Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, March 21st, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at 12:00 Noon at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold. Interment will be private.
