She retired from City Federal Savings as a bank manager in 1986 after 40 years in the banking industry, after which she became a part-time hostess at Battleground County Club, which she affectionately called her "fun job." She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Freehold where she served as a Eucharistic minister, a member of the Sodality, and a member of the St. Rose Court of the Catholic Daughters where she held many offices ending with Grand Regent. She was a past president of the St. Rose Seniors, the Soroptimists, the National Federation of Professional and Business Women, and was a lifelong member of Deborah Heart and Lung Center. She also held many offices in the St. Rose PTA. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Ruth's honor at 10 am on Saturday, April 5th, at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold.
