I played on the Pogo game site and started playing pool online with Gish - we spent so many hours online chatting and laughing thru the typical LOL typing for over 5yr. I never had the pleasure of actually meeting Doug, his friendship online was special. He told so many funny stories and shared his love for his friends from his childhood that were still in touch with him. Amazing how much you get to know someone thru a chat line on a game site. We starting sharing text messages over the past two years, he never forgot a holiday to send a message and always a prayer and always ended with "God Bless" - I have been sending unanswered texts since Valentines Day and knew in my heart something was wrong. I searched today and located his passing. I guess we were like old pen pals that never got to meet in person. I just know he was always a kind and caring person in our online chats while shooting pool. His great stories always had me laugh. To all his friends - my sympathy for your loss of such a great friend. I also will miss his online friendship and his precious text messages of encouragement and concern. It is my turn, my friend, to say
"God Bless" - you will be missed.

Lots of great memories that go way back to elementary school. His smile was contagious and we always got to share our birthday week!

Have fun with my Dad and George, you always did in life. I'll never forget your laugh and how much you made me laugh.
Who knows why he was "Gish" and not Doug? I do.

Hello friend, I will miss you. Our monthly texts and yearly cards were just a little way to stay in touch. Remember your Super Bowl parties, eating out at Nicky's, and our love of stupid funny movies? Remember how we'd goof on people. Lol, it was harmless. Sorry your Jets didn't do well for you this year. Thank you for being a friend. Well, I hope you find all the organic foods you want. Tell Cri-Cri I said hi. Enjoy being with your family. Love you.

Doug was a fun guy to be around. If you shared a class in high school you know what I mean. Not sure some of our teachers would agree but I guess that proves my point. Many cool trips to NY (drinking age was 18 then), crazy nights on Kiawah and about anyplace we would get together. Many memories, some a little blurred and probably a few gone all together. Rest in Peace Doug.
