Father, I thank You that You are strengthening me today. I hope in You (Psalm 31:24). I thank You that You uphold me with Your righteous right hand, therefore I will not fear (Isaiah 41:10).
You are my refuge! Underneath are Your everlasting arms (Deuteronomy 33:27). I shall not die, but live and declare Your works, O Lord (Psalm 118:17).
Father, I bless You because I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). My strength is renewed daily, because I am waiting on You. I will mount up with wings like eagles. I will run and not be weary. I shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
Father, whatsoever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, if there be any virtue or any praise in these things, I will meditate on them today (Philippians 4:8).
Today, I will come singing to Zion with everlasting joy upon my head. I have obtained joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing has fled away (Isaiah 51:11).
Within the Bible we read, in reference to those people we now call Jews, "I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you…" (Genesis 12:3). And we read of Israel itself: "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you." (Psalm 122:6).
Furthermore, we take our spiritual identity from our relationship to the children of Israel. Romans 11 describes the gentile church as branches "grafted" into the Jewish "olive tree," and we are instructed to remember that "you do not support the root, but the root supports you" (Romans 11:8).
When you observe the Passover--remembering God's deliverance in your life and reaching out to help others in gratitude for what He has done for you--you will be blessed. Passover is not just an ancient custom...it is something we are to remember and celebrate today. In fact, Exodus 23 lays out seven specific Passover blessings for your life:
1) Guidance - God's Angel goes before you
2) Deliverance - God will fight your enemies
3) Provision - God will meet your needs
4) Health - God will remove sickness from you
5) Fruitfulness - God will remove barrenness from your life
6) Longevity - God will fulfill your days
7) Possession - God will give you the desires of your heart

Today, I will come singing to Zion with everlasting joy upon my head. I have obtained joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing has fled away (Isaiah 51:11).
This is one of the most unusual prayers in all of scripture, for its words were dictated by God Himself. This is how He told Moses to have Aaron pray for the Children of Israel, and this is how I prayed for you:
"The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace" (Numbers 6:24-26).
If you only have faith in God, this is the absolute truth: you can say to this Mount of Olives, rise up and fall into the Mediterranean, and your command will be obeyed. All that's required is that you really believe and have no doubt. Listen to me, you can pray for anything, and if you believe, you can have it. It's yours!" (Matthew 21:21-22).
Dear Father, thank You for loving me. I am glad You celebrate me. When the Enemy is attacking, I choose to keep my eye fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith. I declare in the midst of my battle, "Greater is He that is within me than he that is in the world" (I John 4:4).
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). I thank You, Father, that there is therefore now "no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1). I walk by faith and not by sight (II Corinthians 5:7). You declared that before I called You would answer, and while I was yet speaking, You would hear (Isaiah 65:24).
Father, I am called according to Your purpose, and therefore I rejoice that all things will work together for good, because I love God (Romans 8:28). I thank You today that Your Name is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10).
Father, You are my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? You are the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)
"Lord You gathered Your people together in Jerusalem to pray. As they prayed, the Ruach (God's breath) fell upon them and gave them power to turn the world upside down. I pray that same Spirit would fill my beloved Jerusalem Prayer Team partner right now for whatever tasks they have and whatever needs they face. May they receive Your power from on high in the mighty name of Jesus. May every yoke be broken and every curse lifted."
As a young man takes a maiden in marriage, so will your children settle in you; and like a bridegroom's rejoicing over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.
ISAIAH (62:5)
The very beginning of Ezekiel's prophecy reveals that he saw the heavens opened in Babylon on the fifth day of the fourth month. Suddenly for the first time I realized--that was July! The fourth Hebrew month, Tammuz, overlaps July on our western calendar! God was showing me what He showed the ancient prophet--His plan for our day.
May you see children born to your children, peace upon Israel.
PSALMS (128:6)
Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.
DEUTERONOMY (6:4)
"Lord, hearken unto my voice; let Thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications." (Psalms 130:2).
"To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me." (Psalm 25:1-4)
According to Jewish tradition, the second month of the Hebrew calendar, the month of 'I-yar' (אייר), is an acronym for the words "a-nee ah-do-nai rof-eh-kha, I am God your healer". Mystical sources teach that the month contains a special healing power. The name of the month reminds us that the power to give life and bring death, and the ability to heal, lie not in the hands of man, but rather exclusively in the hands of our merciful God.
For I am God your healer
EXODUS (15:26)
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid and do not be broken before them; for the Lord, your God He will go before you; He will not fail you nor forsake you.
DEUTERONOMY (31:6)
Maybe once and a while we should reflect on some of the challenges and hurdles that we've had in life and try to find the blessing and kindness inherent in them as well. In everything that God does, one can be sure to find a measure of mercy and kindness!

Papa - grateful, positive, happy, peaceful and humorous
The ability to manage your emotions and remain calm under pressure has a direct link to your performance. TalentSmart has conducted research with more than a million people, and we've found that 90% of top performers are skilled at managing their emotions in times of stress in order to remain calm and in control.
If you follow our newsletter, you've read some startling research summaries that explore the havoc stress can wreak on one's physical and mental health (such as the Yale study, which found that prolonged stress causes degeneration in the area of the brain responsible for self-control). The tricky thing about stress (and the anxiety that comes with it) is that it's an absolutely necessary emotion. Our brains are wired such that it's difficult to take action until we feel at least some level of this emotional state. In fact, performance peaks under the heightened activation that comes with moderate levels of stress. As long as the stress isn't prolonged, it's harmless.
Research from the University of California, Berkeley, reveals an upside to experiencing moderate levels of stress. But it also reinforces how important it is to keep stress under control. The study, led by post-doctoral fellow Elizabeth Kirby, found that the onset of stress entices the brain into growing new cells responsible for improved memory. However, this effect is only seen when stress is intermittent. As soon as the stress continues beyond a few moments into a prolonged state, it suppresses the brain's ability to develop new cells.
"I think intermittent stressful events are probably what keeps the brain more alert, and you perform better when you are alert," Kirby says. For animals, intermittent stress is the bulk of what they experience, in the form of physical threats in their immediate environment. Long ago, this was also the case for humans. As the human brain evolved and increased in complexity, we've developed the ability to worry and perseverate on events, which creates frequent experiences of prolonged stress.
Besides increasing your risk of heart disease, depression, and obesity, stress decreases your cognitive performance. Fortunately, though, unless a lion is chasing you, the bulk of your stress is subjective and under your control. Top performers have well-honed coping strategies that they employ under stressful circumstances. This lowers their stress levels regardless of what's happening in their environment, ensuring that the stress they experience is intermittent and not prolonged.
While I've run across numerous effective strategies that successful people employ when faced with stress, what follows are ten of the best. Some of these strategies may seem obvious, but the real challenge lies in recognizing when you need to use them and having the wherewithal to actually do so in spite of your stress.
They Appreciate What They Have
Taking time to contemplate what you're grateful for isn't merely the "right" thing to do. It also improves your mood, because it reduces the stress hormone cortisol by 23%. Research conducted at the University of California, Davis found that people who worked daily to cultivate an attitude of gratitude experienced improved mood, energy, and physical well-being. It's likely that lower levels of cortisol played a major role in this.
They Avoid Asking "What If?"
"What if?" statements throw fuel on the fire of stress and worry. Things can go in a million different directions, and the more time you spend worrying about the possibilities, the less time you'll spend focusing on taking action that will calm you down and keep your stress under control. Calm people know that asking "what if? will only take them to a place they don't want—or need—to go.
They Stay Positive
Positive thoughts help make stress intermittent by focusing your brain's attention onto something that is completely stress-free. You have to give your wandering brain a little help by consciously selecting something positive to think about. Any positive thought will do to refocus your attention. When things are going well, and your mood is good, this is relatively easy. When things are going poorly, and your mind is flooded with negative thoughts, this can be a challenge. In these moments, think about your day and identify one positive thing that happened, no matter how small. If you can't think of something from the current day, reflect on the previous day or even the previous week. Or perhaps you're looking forward to an exciting event that you can focus your attention on. The point here is that you must have something positive that you're ready to shift your attention to when your thoughts turn negative.
They Disconnect
Given the importance of keeping stress intermittent, it's easy to see how taking regular time off the grid can help keep your stress under control. When you make yourself available to your work 24/7, you expose yourself to a constant barrage of stressors. Forcing yourself offline and even—gulp!—turning off your phone gives your body a break from a constant source of stress. Studies have shown that something as simple as an email break can lower stress levels.
Technology enables constant communication and the expectation that you should be available 24/7. It is extremely difficult to enjoy a stress-free moment outside of work when an email that will change your train of thought and get you thinking (read: stressing) about work can drop onto your phone at any moment. If detaching yourself from work-related communication on weekday evenings is too big a challenge, then how about the weekend? Choose blocks of time where you cut the cord and go offline. You'll be amazed at how refreshing these breaks are and how they reduce stress by putting a mental recharge into your weekly schedule. If you're worried about the negative repercussions of taking this step, first try doing it at times when you're unlikely to be contacted—maybe Sunday morning. As you grow more comfortable with it, and as your coworkers begin to accept the time you spend offline, gradually expand the amount of time you spend away from technology.
They Limit Their Caffeine Intake
Drinking caffeine triggers the release of adrenaline. Adrenaline is the source of the "fight-or-flight" response, a survival mechanism that forces you to stand up and fight or run for the hills when faced with a threat. The fight-or-flight mechanism sidesteps rational thinking in favor of a faster response. This is great when a bear is chasing you, but not so great when you're responding to a curt email. When caffeine puts your brain and body into this hyperaroused state of stress, your emotions overrun your behavior. The stress that caffeine creates is far from intermittent, as its long half-life ensures that it takes its sweet time working its way out of your body.
They Sleep
I've beaten this one to death over the years and can't say enough about the importance of sleep to increasing your emotional intelligence and managing your stress levels. When you sleep, your brain literally recharges, shuffling through the day's memories and storing or discarding them (which causes dreams), so that you wake up alert and clear-headed. Your self-control, attention, and memory are all reduced when you don't get enough—or the right kind—of sleep. Sleep deprivation raises stress hormone levels on its own, even without a stressor present. Stressful projects often make you feel as if you have no time to sleep, but taking the time to get a decent night's sleep is often the one thing keeping you from getting things under control.
They Squash Negative Self-Talk
A big step in managing stress involves stopping negative self-talk in its tracks. The more you ruminate on negative thoughts, the more power you give them. Most of our negative thoughts are just that—thoughts, not facts. When you find yourself believing the negative and pessimistic things, your inner voice says, "It's time to stop and write them down." Literally stop what you're doing and write down what you're thinking. Once you've taken a moment to slow down the negative momentum of your thoughts, you will be more rational and clear-headed in evaluating their veracity.
You can bet that your statements aren't true any time you use words like "never," "worst," "ever," etc. If your statements still look like facts once they're on paper, take them to a friend or colleague you trust and see if he or she agrees with you. Then the truth will surely come out. When it feels like something always or never happens, this is just your brain's natural threat tendency inflating the perceived frequency or severity of an event. Identifying and labeling your thoughts as thoughts by separating them from the facts will help you escape the cycle of negativity and move toward a positive new outlook.
They Reframe Their Perspective
Stress and worry are fueled by our own skewed perception of events. It's easy to think that unrealistic deadlines, unforgiving bosses, and out-of-control traffic are the reasons we're so stressed all the time. You can't control your circumstances, but you can control how you respond to them. So before you spend too much time dwelling on something, take a minute to put the situation in perspective. If you aren't sure when you need to do this, try looking for clues that your anxiety may not be proportional to the stressor. If you're thinking in broad, sweeping statements such as "Everything is going wrong" or "Nothing will work out," then you need to reframe the situation. A great way to correct this unproductive thought pattern is to list the specific things that actually are going wrong or not working out. Most likely you will come up with just some things—not everything—and the scope of these stressors will look much more limited than it initially appeared.
They Breathe
The easiest way to make stress intermittent lies in something that you have to do everyday anyway: breathing. The practice of being in the moment with your breathing will begin to train your brain to focus solely on the task at hand and get the stress monkey off your back. When you're feeling stressed, take a couple of minutes to focus on your breathing. Close the door, put away all other distractions, and just sit in a chair and breathe. The goal is to spend the entire time focused only on your breathing, which will prevent your mind from wandering. Think about how it feels to breathe in and out. This sounds simple, but it's hard to do for more than a minute or two. It's all right if you get sidetracked by another thought; this is sure to happen at the beginning, and you just need to bring your focus back to your breathing. If staying focused on your breathing proves to be a real struggle, try counting each breath in and out until you get to 20, and then start again from 1. Don't worry if you lose count; you can always just start over.
This task may seem too easy or even a little silly, but you'll be surprised by how calm you feel afterward and how much easier it is to let go of distracting thoughts that otherwise seem to have lodged permanently inside your brain.
They Use Their Support System
It's tempting, yet entirely ineffective, to attempt tackling everything by yourself. To be calm and productive, you need to recognize your weaknesses and ask for help when you need it. This means tapping into your support system when a situation is challenging enough for you to feel overwhelmed. Everyone has someone at work and/or outside work who is on their team, rooting for them, and ready to help them get the best from a difficult situation. Identify these individuals in your life and make an effort to seek their insight and assistance when you need it. Something as simple as talking about your worries will provide an outlet for your anxiety and stress and supply you with a new perspective on the situation. Most of the time, other people can see a solution that you can't because they are not as emotionally invested in the situation. Asking for help will mitigate your stress and strengthen your relationships with those you rely upon.

On the one year death anniversary of my SuperDad!!!
Grief Poems, Seasons Of Grief
Shall I wither and fall like an autumn leaf,
From this deep sorrow - from this painful grief?
How can I go on or find a way to be strong?
Will I ever again enjoy life's sweet song?
Sometimes a warm memory sheds light in the dark
And eases the pain like the song of a Meadow Lark.
Then it flits away on silent wings and I'm alone;
Hungering for more of the light it had shone.
Shall grief's bitter cold sadness consume me,
Like a winter storm on the vast angry sea?
How can I fill the void and deep desperate need
To replant my heart with hope's lovely seed?
Then I look at a photo of your playful smiling face
And for a moment I escape to a serene happy place;
Remembering the laughter and all you would do,
Cherishing the honest, caring, loving spirit of you.
Shall spring's cheerful flowers bring life anew
And allow me to forget the agony of missing you?
Will spring's burst of new life bring fresh hope
And teach my grieving soul how to cope?
Sometimes I'll read a treasured card you had given me
And each word's special meaning makes me see,
The precious gift of love I was fortunate to receive,
And I realize you'd never want to see me grieve.
Shall summer's warm brilliant sun bring new light,
And free my anguished mind of its terrible plight?
Will its gentle breezes chase grief's dark clouds away,
And show me a clear path towards a better day?
When I visit the grave where you lie in eternal peace,
I know that death and heaven brought you release;
I try to envision your joy on that shore across the sea,
And, until I join you, that'll have to be enough for me.
For all the remaining seasons of my life on earth,
There'll be days I'll miss your merriment and mirth,
And sometimes I'll sadly long for all the yesterdays;
Missing our chats and your gentle understanding ways.
Yet, the lessons of kindness and love you taught me,
And the good things in life you've helped me to see;
Linger as lasting gifts that comfort and will sustain,
Until I journey to that peaceful shore and see you again.
As I was praying for you today, the Spirit of the Lord spoke to me to encourage you and gave me this scripture for you. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7). I know this promise is true!
HAPPY 75th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - Mama & Papa!!!
Sung at a Jewish wedding, this song is not a typical wedding song. It gives you a new perspective on the holiness of marriage according to Judaism. Jewish tradition teaches that when a man and a woman unite in matrimony, G-d Himself joins them and that the union is holy. The words to this song, a bit melancholy for a joyous Jewish wedding, are truly meaningful and embody the soul of a Jewish marriage - faith.
"..Even on the days when I "forgot" you You were always in my life In all the ways that I went You have been a guiding light. I was blind. I could not see beyond what my eyes were focused on
Chorus: King, the King of all Kings - Thank you for life For happiness for tears and Laughter
Even when it's hard sometimes, even then, you are my G-d.
You are never far."
"Dear Lord Jesus,
I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will.
In your name, Amen."
The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph
Reading 1 sir 3:2-6, 12-14
God sets a father in honor over his children;
a mother's authority he confirms over her sons.
Whoever honors his father atones for sins,
and preserves himself from them.
When he prays, he is heard;
he stores up riches who reveres his mother.
Whoever honors his father is gladdened by children,
and, when he prays, is heard.
Whoever reveres his father will live a long life;
he who obeys his father brings comfort to his mother.
My son, take care of your father when he is old;
grieve him not as long as he lives.
Even if his mind fail, be considerate of him;
revile him not all the days of his life;
kindness to a father will not be forgotten,
firmly planted against the debt of your sins
—a house raised in justice to you.
or gn 15:1-6; 21:1-3
The word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying:
"Fear not, Abram!
I am your shield;
I will make your reward very great."
But Abram said,
"O Lord GOD, what good will your gifts be,
if I keep on being childless
and have as my heir the steward of my house, Eliezer?"
Abram continued,
"See, you have given me no offspring,
and so one of my servants will be my heir."
Then the word of the LORD came to him:
"No, that one shall not be your heir;
your own issue shall be your heir."
The Lord took Abram outside and said,
"Look up at the sky and count the stars, if you can.
Just so," he added, "shall your descendants be."
Abram put his faith in the LORD,
who credited it to him as an act of righteousness.
The LORD took note of Sarah as he had said he would;
he did for her as he had promised.
Sarah became pregnant and bore Abraham a son in his old age,
at the set time that God had stated.
Abraham gave the name Isaac to this son of his
whom Sarah bore him.

Brothers and sisters:
Put on, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved,
heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,
bearing with one another and forgiving one another,
if one has a grievance against another;
as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do.
And over all these put on love,
that is, the bond of perfection.
And let the peace of Christ control your hearts,
the peace into which you were also called in one body.
And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,
as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another,
singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs
with gratitude in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, in word or in deed,
do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Wives, be subordinate to your husbands,
as is proper in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives,
and avoid any bitterness toward them.
Children, obey your parents in everything,
for this is pleasing to the Lord.
Fathers, do not provoke your children,
so they may not become discouraged.

Brothers and sisters:
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place
that he was to receive as an inheritance;
he went out, not knowing where he was to go.
By faith he received power to generate,
even though he was past the normal age
—and Sarah herself was sterile—
for he thought that the one who had made the promise was trustworthy.
So it was that there came forth from one man,
himself as good as dead,
descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky
and as countless as the sands on the seashore.
By faith Abraham, when put to the test, offered up Isaac,
and he who had received the promises was ready to offer
his only son,
of whom it was said,
"Through Isaac descendants shall bear your name."
He reasoned that God was able to raise even from the dead,
and he received Isaac back as a symbol.

Gospel lk 2:22-40
When the days were completed for their purification
according to the law of Moses,
They took him up to Jerusalem
to present him to the Lord,
just as it is written in the law of the Lord,
Every male that opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord,
and to offer the sacrifice of
a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons,
in accordance with the dictate in the law of the Lord.
Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon.
This man was righteous and devout,
awaiting the consolation of Israel,
and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit
that he should not see death
before he had seen the Christ of the Lord.
He came in the Spirit into the temple;
and when the parents brought in the child Jesus
to perform the custom of the law in regard to him,
He took him into his arms and blessed God, saying:
"Now, Master, you may let your servant go
in peace, according to your word,
for my eyes have seen your salvation,
which you prepared in sight of all the peoples,
a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
and glory for your people Israel."
The child's father and mother were amazed at what was said about him;
and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother,
"Behold, this child is destined
for the fall and rise of many in Israel,
and to be a sign that will be contradicted
—and you yourself a sword will pierce—
so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed."
There was also a prophetess, Anna,
the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher.
She was advanced in years,
having lived seven years with her husband after her marriage,
and then as a widow until she was eighty-four.
She never left the temple,
but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer.
And coming forward at that very time,
she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child
to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem.
When they had fulfilled all the prescriptions
of the law of the Lord,
they returned to Galilee,
to their own town of Nazareth.
The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom;
and the favor of God was upon him.

I was up at 12 AM to usher in your 101st birthday. I cried a lot since then. If tears can make a staircase to heaven I would have climed up and ask if you can spend you birthday here with us. I wish you were still with us here on earth even though it's a selfish wish because I know you worked so hard here on earth to get there and have everlasting life in the company of Of the Lord, your Mama, your Tio Ne, My Mama, your oldest son Joseph and all your departed siblings. You must have had a great birthday with a healthy body and enjoying all your favorite foods. I miss you so. I read all your apostolate letters and they comfort. Please watch over me and the rest of the family especially Andy because he is not doing well. It was so much easier when we were all you and you were also young, healthy and strong. Nothing prepared us to losing you and Mama. It is only 4 months since you were called but it feels like yesterday.
"You are my refuge! Underneath are Your everlasting arms (Deuteronomy 33:27). I shall not die, but live and declare Your works, O Lord (Psalm 118:17).
Father, I bless You because I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
(Philippians 4:13).

My father was a good man. He taught me many things including the love of life, especially sports and good grooming. I remember when the word groovy was in and we used to call my dad, Mr Groovy. To his family he was lolo Pogi or handsome granpa.
My dad loved to play horse with me when I was little - he was the horse and I was the rider. He bought me toys just like most dads would and he never failed to bring me to the local barber shop whenever I needed a haircut.
I can tell you a lot more about my dad but I do not want to repeat what my other siblings have already said or will say. One thing that I am most grateful for for my dad was he modeled honesty to his family. He worked as a government auditor and he never left the house for work without carrying his gun because he had many corrupt enemies who wanted him out of their way.
Last, but certainly not the least, I owe my dad my attitude towards work and respect for authority. Papa expected obedience from his children and he made sure we pulled our own weight around the house. I don't remember raising my voice to my dad except on one occasion during my rebellious teenage years in which I made sure it was the last.
For the past several years, my family can testify that I prayed for my dad day and night that he would have the peace of God - the same kind of peace that God has given to me when I fully trusted in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. It broke my heart to see my own father's face filled with anxiety especially during the last few months before he died. I praise God that he allowed me to be at my dad's side during his last moments here on earth. As I stood alone with him inside the ER praying the same prayer I've prayed for many years for him, God gave me the wonderful assurance which I cannot explain that he has finally received the peace of God which the Bible describes as beyond all human understanding. His face showed no signs of the anxiety he constantly had before and I knew beyond any doubt that Papa at that moment could hear the voices of the angelic choir welcoming him to his heavenly mansion. Papa, I will see you and Mama soon.

I don't get to see Lolo Pogi that often but whenever I visit the family in New Jersey, I am always welcomed by warm smiles and comforting words. A handshake and a kiss were always a standard which makes me feel that I belong and that their home will always have a place for me. I can still remember when we moved in NJ, a visit to their place would always make me feel safe in an unfamiliar place. They would always ask if I have eaten or if ever I would want to take food home with me. Looking back at the stories of everyone on how Lolo Pogi Lived his life and how they described him as a person, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather, it would be fair enough for me to say that Lolo Pogi is indeed a true example of a "Distinguished Gentleman." Thanks for all the memories and may you rest in peace together with Lola and God our Father!

Lolo was the only person I would ever let call me "Hannah Banana." To everyone else, I was "Hannah Strawberry."
Lolo was the only grandfather I ever knew. Even in the last stages of his life, Lolo showed he loved me. He could no longer speak, bu when I sang to him, he would open his eyes and search my face. I think I'm going to miss singing to him the most. We shared a love for music. Every time I hear a Frank Sinatra song, I'm always going to think of him.
I'm going to miss him so much, but I am so thankful he no longer has to suffer. He now can eat whatever he wants to, tease Lola, and spend eternity with his Savior.
I love you so much, Lolo. I'll see you soon.

Lolo,ever since I was a child you've been a great Lolo to everyone. You where always there for us.Lolo would take us out for lunch,taking us to places to play and eat. Lolo loved to eat out on different restaurants. Ever since I moved here to New Jersey I started to know and idolized him more. Lolo loved the good stuff and always dressed nice everyday, even though he's not going anywhere.When I was still young I always remember every end of the month how you patiently wait for your pension and you would tell us to get in the car while we wait for the mailman:)) As soon as you get your check, off we go to eat.
Lo, somehow I see myself being like you. Some part of my life is the way you lived yours. Also I looked up to you because Lola loved you till the end of her life. Now you are together with the Lord. I wish my kids will take care of me the way all your kids took care of you until the very last breath you had. We will always remember and love you LOLO POGI.

Every visit, lolo would always drive us around to parks, libraries, malls and restaurants with my cousins, Kit, Cesca, Paolo , Bunny and Oneball. Lolo never fails to make us laugh with his "siopao story."
I will always cherish the memories and never forget the happiness and laughter he brought to everyone. I know lolo pogi and lola mary are watching over us. I believe I got the best father-in-law in the world. While most people complain about their in-laws, I could say I am blessed and have no complaints whatsoever with mine. I remember when Papa treated me to a Chinese buffet (just the two of us) and told me to enjoy the food but to be very careful how I eat or else I will gain so much weight like most of the people who were eating at that restaurant that day. I enjoyed his sense of humor and he made me feel so special by taking me out to eat just by ourselves.

Although I was not w him during my younger year consistently, I remember all the happy memories w my Lolo. I remember everytime we go to New Jersey for vacation, Lolo takes me to the mall almost everyday. We eat at old country buffet all the time. I even remember Lola Mary teasing me that I love Lolo more than her because we are always together. When I lived with them for a short time, Lolo loves my cooking. Sometimes even it was Lola who cooked it, I would tell him I cooked it for him so he will eat it. He used to say "sarap Talaga luto mo kesa Kay Lola baduy" even it was Lola who cooked it. :-) I will never forget when I first got a job here as a teller of a bank, even it was hard for him due to his age, he would still drive me to work, drive me to get my first driver's license. Few months ago, i will never forget that one night, all night he just kept saying my name "oneball". I love you and I will miss you lolo. I am glad that my 2 kids had the chance to meet you and be part of their lives. I know You are in a happy place now with Lola. You will always be in my heart. I have a new angel now.

Ever since I can remember as a young child I looked up to my Papa as a hero and my very own Superman. I know I cannot hold a candle to him but it was my dream to try. As a child I never needed a Webster dictionary or a Brittanica Encyclopedia because my dad was a walking genius. I never met a more rounded man than my Papa. He was a CPA topnotcher when the Americans were in the Philippines. He wrote 2 books on accounting. He was a government auditor and fullpledged professor in Accounting. He always held 2 jobs because he had eleven children. Always on the weekends we would tag along with him and watch him play squash, tennis or golf. He loved sports. He had the best sense of humor and likes to tell jokes. He was an excellent dancer. My mom knew of him and became a University beauty queen for the chance to meet him in spite of her father's objections. He proposed to my Mom in my Dad's Mom's grave site and asked her to marry him and HR wanted 12 children. My mom thought the 12 children was a joke and agreed to marry him. They had 12 children but their oldest son Joseph died fr head injuries due to a high forceps delivery.
I always wanted to impress my dad and that was hard because of 10 siblings which I considered my competitors for his attention. I studied the hardest and probably received the most medals even if I was not the smartest of his children. I owe my dad and he is the reason I was able to achieve my dreams. He was my inspiration to excel academically. My Dad has 7 daughters and 4 sons. We all graduated college and some went for higher learning or graduate school. Without my parents sacrifices I including my siblings will not be where we are. I am so lucky the Almighty has blessed my Papa with a lot of years. We all turned out well even if he did not believe in physical discipline. A gentle rebuke from him was enough to send you to tears and learn from your mistakes. For me Papa iand Mama are not gone because they will always be a part of me the best part of me in my heart and in my spirit. That is their best legacy to me and to their 60 offsprings. My parents inherited the dew of the heavens and great blessings from the Lord. They took care of all their children and most of their grandchildren and some great grandchildren. They had old fashioned values and molded their children according to the word of the Lord. It was interesting to see that all his old jokes and magic tricks he passed on to his grandchildren and great granchildren. Life was so much with Papa in it. I know we can no longer keep Papa from Mama because they belong together. They are rich because the Almighty showered them with all things not made of human hands but those unseen. They showered everyone of us with tremendous lovingkindness that is Godly.. I believe Papa will find Mama and they will have each other again which are his own words when he realized Mama was no longer around. Happy Anniversary Papa and Mama and now you have eternity for each other.

My dearest Papa Pogi, I will miss you and Mama so much. We have been roommates for the last eight years, ever since you and Mama got sick and needed my love, care, and help, especially during the night. I will miss waking up at night, knowing you needed my help. Your silent calls through out the night always wake me up automatically. I shall miss these nights staying up with you, holding your tender hands, praying silently for God's love and mercy to ease the pain you were undergoing. Now, you are within the loving Arms of Our Lord and I'm sure, holding hands with Mama. Give our love to Mama and kiss her for us. May the Peace of Our Lord be with you both, now and forevermore. I will hold dearly in my heart your beautiful and tender smile, your smiling eyes and laughter, your generosity and love for your family. Look down kindly upon us and continue to pray for us to God and guide us to the right way on our own journey home to God, Almighty. I am happy that you are now free of physical pain and discomfort, no more pain for you, my beloved Papa. It will be very lonely without you. Your loving daughter, ruby.
