Obituary of Hillary Smith

Hillary Smith nee Mannes of Keyport, passed away on January 14, 2014 of COPD and cancer. Born April 19, 1953 in the Bronx, NY, she was the youngest child of Lee and Bridget Mannes; sister to Arthur Mannes of Swansboro, NC and Lynne Dufner of Manalapan; sister-in-law to Mary Mannes and Tom Dufner. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Nan Mannes. She was an adored aunt to five nephews, two nieces, four grandnieces and three grandnephews. She will be dearly missed by her many friends and all who knew and loved her. Much of Hillary's career was in publishing and prior to that in event planning. She was Executive Publisher of Shooting Sports Retailer and a regular participant at the S.H.O.T. Show. Hillary exulted in her family and friends, had a wonderful sense of humor and could be counted on for a light comment, even when things got rough. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge and give thanks for the compassionate care provided in her last days by the nurses and staff of the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey. Hillary delighted us all in her lifetime with reminiscences of times gone by.
